If she'd asked me "Why?" I'd probably have replied..."Why not?" and silently wished them to the devil so I could go back to taking photos. Thankfully, I've never had anyone ask me why I was taking photos of graffiti so I haven't offended anyone yet or turned any innocent teens into Medieval graffiti haters. For me old graffiti is always a glimpse of a forgotten life/story. Some people seem so determined to leave their mark...and they cut deep. Others just seem to be killing time...but why? What were they waiting for? Caring about one thing (say, ooh, I ...Two things... Caring about one thing (say, ooh, I dunno, old things) doesn't automatically exclude one from caring about other things (Gaza, poverty, Cornish pasties), and it's an absurd point to make in an argument. Much like people who say 'If that's all you've got to worry about...'<br /><br />Secondly, dismissing the hopes, the prayers, the shadows cast by those long gone, simply because they're not here any longer... It perpetuates an injustice. They've been overlooked long enough. By studying them, recording their presence, you're righting a historical wrong. Affording them the attention & consideration they previously didn't have, and proving that times change, but peoples minds and motivations don't. Those who left there mark then were just as human as we are now. Psycharcheology? ;-)Put Up With Rainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02293737831040832903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-803964434254691052.post-7876497397346136562014-08-23T04:03:57.140+01:002014-08-23T04:03:57.140+01:00Brilliant answer !
